Mother.

Vibrant Rosemarie.

Before the dementia.

Since her December death-

Art quilting.

Time and space.

Possibility.

Quiet.  Gentle.  Together. 

Attuned.

Gazing into each other’s eyes.

Seeing beauty and love again.

Anew. 

Caressing her face.

For hours-

Like a baby would her Mama. 

Transmuted my grief.

Her grief.

Our grief.

Collective grief.

Reweaving relationships.

Reweaving radiance.

Stitching back together again-

With forgiveness, gratitude, and grace.

Peaceful prayer.

For us all.
